Q. What is NJIT Giving Day?

An opportunity for the entire NJIT community to come together and make a collective impact across campus and beyond, NJIT Giving Day is a university-wide day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. NJIT Giving Day is an initiative of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations and is powered by GiveGab.


Q. When is NJIT Giving Day?

NJIT Giving Day is March 5-6, 2024 from noon to noon.


Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Participation by making a gift of any size is encouraged. Donations through the NJIT Giving Day online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


Q. How else can I support NJIT Giving Day if I am unable to make a gift at this time?

You can still make an impact by becoming a NJIT Giving Day advocate! Leverage our NJIT Giving Day toolkit (coming soon!) to spread the word, encourage others to participate and support the NJIT fund most meaningful to you.


Q. Can advocates have as much impact as donors?

Yes! Advocacy is crucial in encouraging others to get involved and building a network of support to continuously enhance the NJIT student experience. Your support and involvement of any kind is valued and makes a positive difference in our community.


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab, which is becoming Bontera, is NJIT’s digital giving platform provider for NJIT Giving Day and crowdfunding efforts. Our partnership with GiveGab aims to deliver engaging and user-friendly Giving Day and crowdfunding capabilities, empowering our community to make an impact in the most efficient way possible.


Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating nonprofit will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 5-7 business days.


Q. Can donors cover processing fees?

Yes! GiveGab retains a 3.25% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to NJIT.


Q. When will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit givingday.njit.edu on your mobile device.


Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for NJIT Giving Day?

You cannot pre-schedule your NJIT Giving Day gift, but you may make a donation to NJIT before or after NJIT Giving Day. In order for your donation to be counted towards incentives awarded on NJIT Giving Day it must be made between noon and noon on March 5-6, 2024.

You can continue to engage with NJIT by attending events and following us on social media to stay informed about everything happening in our community.
